Requirements for Legalization by the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office
According to the regulations of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Vietnam, only documents that meet all of the following mandatory criteria will be accepted for legalization:
Documents must be translated into English or Traditional Chinese, accompanied by the original (or a certified true copy of the original).
Both the translation and the original (or certified copy) must be consularly certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam (Consular Department or the Department of External Relations in Ho Chi Minh City).
If authorizing another person to handle the procedure, the personal power of attorney must bear the authenticated signature of the authorizing party; a corporate power of attorney must bear the signature and company seal of the legal representative.
The person granting the authorization must be the owner of the documents requiring legalization. In the case of a child’s documents, the legal guardian must act as the authorizing party.
